Body Work for Actors Private Coaching
The Chris Fields Acting Studio offers a variety of classes in different areas of study.
Technique (Repetition)
The basis of truth in acting is the reality of doing. This class utilizes Sanford Meisner's "repetition" exercise to teach you to really listen, really respond, and really leave yourself alone so that you can really be in the moment. You will learn to work from your self, each moment informed by your instincts, in a truthful and spontaneous manner.

Scene Study
You'll work at least once a class on material assigned by Chris bringing in the scene at different stages of rehearsal. The use of oneself and the synthesis of personal experience and imagination is continually stressed and practiced. Learn to break down the scene in a manner conducive to what is organic and doable. The goal is to make your work simple, specific and truthful at all times with any material.

Audition Workshop
This is an intensive workshop focusing on acquiring and shaping the skills and awareness necessary for you to do what you know how to do and so deeply want: get the part.
Subjects to be covered are:
- Taking care of yourself and protecting your audition.
- The "social" in the interview and the room.
- Breaking a scene down economically for audition purposes.
- Cold readings.
- The demands of and practice in different genres: Film/M.O.W. and Mini-Series/ Hour/ Half-Hour/Theater.

Voice for Actors
In this Linklater-based course, you will have the opportunity to emancipate your voice through the study of relaxation and time-tested exercises for physical and emotional release that reveal new levels of expressive self-awareness that translate to deep, full, and rich vocalizations. You will focus on emotional freedom and vocal power. This is an opportunity to learn a practical voice warm-up for use in the liberation of physical and emotional barriers to expression, as well as concrete, down-to-earth relaxation and focusing practices.

Body Work for Actors
Body Work for actors is designed to give the actor greater strength, flexibility and control. It is a thoughtful blend of yoga, breathing techniques, core toning and traditional calisthenics that tightens muscles and creates a sense of lightness in the limbs. This class will develop your ability to be "inside your body" which will enable you to deeply relax and fully inhabit the most difficult moments on stage or in front of a camera. Additionally, it will prepare your body to work at its maximum output, while remaining calm in the mind.
